Term and Policy

How to determine the weight or thickness of the fabric

GSM or Grams per Square Meter is a unit of measurement used to determine the weight of fabric per square meter. GSM is an indicator of the fabric's thickness or density; the higher the GSM value, the thicker and heavier the fabric. GSM is commonly used in the textile industry to determine the quality and application of the fabric, such as whether the material is more suitable for lighter garments like t-shirts or heavier items like jackets.

Gross and net weight

Gross weight is the initial weight of the raw fabric before dyeing or other finishing processes. Net weight is the final weight of the fabric after it has been processed. This distinction is important for calculating material usage, production efficiency, and determining the selling price of the finished fabric.

The definition of "Lot"

"Lot" refers to a batch or group of fabric produced in a single production run using the same yarn and processes. Lots ensure that products from the same batch are consistent in quality, color, and other characteristics. Identifying products by lot allows customers to track quality issues or variations that may occur in a specific batch.

What is Rib?

Rib refers to a type of pattern or texture created by alternating knit and purl stitches. Rib is commonly used to create stretchy and elastic fabrics, often used in neck area of the T-shirt.

What is collar and cuff?

A collar is a piece of fabric that encircles the neckline of a garment. It can be knitted or sewn and is designed to provide structure, style, and comfort around the neck. A cuff is a band of fabric that finishes the end of a sleeve or pant leg. It can be knitted or sewn and is designed to provide a clean edge and ensure a snug fit around the wrist or ankle.
